Abstract

During the last decades the rapid progress in the fields of complex modelling and simulationor in the cognitive and the life sciences was not accompanied by a similar advancement of the socio-economic research tradition itself. Socio-economics as a hybrid field for the complex dynamics of modern societies across their micro-, meso- and macro-levels has still a long way to go in order to reach its full potential. The present article provides a general outline for expanding and advancing socio-economics along four different dimensions which should be able to produce a significant take-off for socio-economic theories, models, methods and mechanisms.  相似文献

提出了一种基于复杂网络理论构建电动汽车充电设施网络的模型,分别构建了上海、西安、合肥和大连的电动汽车充电设施网络,并分析了其电动汽车充电设施的运营情况以及布局的合理性。通过构建理想情况下的电动汽车充电设施网络,研究电动汽车充电设施网络的发展趋势。仿真结果显示:电动汽车充电设施网络的结构对电动汽车充电设施的利用率和稳定性有显著影响——该研究结果在实际网络中得到了验证。  相似文献

In this article, we use a correlation matrix and its internal networks to analyse business cycle synchronization across Europe since 2000. This methodology allows us to summarize individual country interactions and co-movements while also capturing the existing heterogeneity of connectivity within the European economic system. Our results indicate that synchronization of the euro zone countries remained stable from 1999 until the current financial crisis, after which co-movements increased sharply and synchronization rose to the highest in the time sample. By endogenously identifying clusters of countries with close connections in their business cycle, we also refute the commonly accepted notion of identifiable core and peripheral euro zone countries.  相似文献

Karl Polanyi’s analysis of the genesis, crises, and institutional transformations of contemporary society is grounded on a theory of the basic features and dynamics of capitalism as a peculiar form of society. This article intends to develop this thesis on the basis of a reading of Polanyi’s The Great Transformation, with references to Polanyi’s preceding and later research. Polanyi’s theoretical and methodological achievements suggest a wide comparative outlook and offer a critique of economics, in addition to being deeply connected with his political philosophy. Polanyi’s approach seems to be nearer to the original institutional thought — from Karl Marx to Thorstein Veblen, from Max Weber to Adolf Löwe and Karl William Kapp — than to current neo-institutional tendencies in economics, sociology, and historiography. The hard problems society presently faces suggest the need to adhere to Polanyi’s radical point of view — that is, to a radical approach to Polanyi’s thought.  相似文献

The Earth system is a complex adaptive system, characterised by non-linear change and with significant capacity for surprise. In times of systemic crisis, such as dangerous anthropogenic climate change, perverse resilience (for example the structural power of fossil fuel interests in the global economy) can threaten overall Earth system stability. Critical political economic analysis recognises climate change as a threat with significant political economic characteristics and implications. However, key dimensions of climate change as a globally coherent phenomenon, including the important implications of Earth system dynamism and non-linear change, can remain unrecognised, mischaracterised or underestimated. In contrast, resilience approaches describe social-ecological systems but neglect the significance of norms and power relations in human societies. This article builds theory by linking key concepts – hegemony and resilience – from neo-Gramscian political economic analysis and resilience approaches to social-ecological systems. Our objective is to generate a new conceptual framework to improve understanding of the role of politics in social-ecological systems. We use climate change and its mitigation to demonstrate the new framework's potential.  相似文献
